I second (or third?) the point. If the meeting were moved to earlier, some could at least make the ferry and attend. But if the legislators want to hear from the 3000-4000 folks on Orcas, they really should commit the time to come here.

I'm with Andrea and Lance. I'm always surprised with some of the meeting schedules that concern the populace, do they not know that we work.

Sounds like these will be terrific and important meetings. What a shame that Orcas Islanders can't attend the Friday Harbor meeting unless they are willing to spend the night there, as the last interisland ferry departs Friday Harbor at 5:45 pm.

well and eloquently said!!! It's been 20 years of this squabbling, and we still aren't GMA compliant. Current regulations are NOT protecting our Critical Areas - Eastsound is a clear example of that - even before being GMA compliant, being a UGA has cost us the environmental health of our critical aquifer.

Let's get on with it, and do our best to educate ourselves and each other on what CAs are, why they are important and necessary, and what are best methods for taking care of them, so that less enforcement is unnecessary. Fact is, there will always be those who know the laws and continue to harm critical areas anyway- for sheer profit. We'll always have a few repeat offenders, so we need some way to protect and enforce.

Kyler, I hope you will consider doing a separate workshop specifically on myco remediation, as this is an important enough topic to warrant a full workshop. Myco remediation could be an essential part of helping to offset the massive degradation of Eastsound Swale; gateway to Fishing Bay and valuable/essential nearshore habitat.

Your first line says it all. I think alot of the "power" people have lost the definition of compromise, decisions effect all of us not just one side or the other. Very nicely stated, Margie.
