<description>Thanks for speaking up for Island Rec, David and Susan. I have been an early and longtime advocate for our Rec. Program, as a founding board member and the second Island Rec. Director.

Didier has done a terrific job developing the relationships and programs our island children and families enjoy. Every year the programs are subject to cancellation because Orcas, unlike Friday Harbor, doesn&#039;t have a secure and supportive funding source.

Maybe it&#039;s time for Orcas Islanders to consider how to generate sustainable funding for the Rec. Program and The Fun House, assuring our precious resources, island kids, have our continuing support.
