Moran Outdoor School Celebration
Despite the best attempts of many involved in keeping Moran Outdoor School (MOS) open, the program has been cut from the WA State Park’s budget, and will no longer offer environmental programs. Moran Outdoor School held its last season this Spring with 595 participants in four short weeks. Like all of the Outdoor School seasons before it, this one was a huge success.

In honor of 14 successful years at Moran Outdoor School there is going to be a reunion celebration at the Moran Environmental Learning Center September 26th 2009. Everyone is invited- past staff, past campers, community members, parents, and teachers. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Here is what we have planned so far…
Saturday September 26th 2009

1:00-2:00 Check in and get settled into your cabin
2:00-5:00 Canoeing on Cascade Lake
3:00-5:00 Nature games for kids, Pick-up games of basketball, volleyball, or Frisbee
4:00-5:00 Camouflage
5:00-6:30 Potluck and picture slideshow
6:30 Composting Talk
7:00 Campfire & marshmallow roasting

We’ll have Moran Outdoor School items for sale and all proceeds will benefit the Friends of Moran. The Friends of Moran is a non-profit organization that helps fund special projects in the Park and who has supported the Outdoor School in the past.

We invite you to come share your memories, your favorite camp song and revisit the majestic setting of Moran Outdoor School one more time.
