First drafts of the proposed Comprehensive Plan Transportation Element and Appendix have been posted to the comprehensive Plan Update Project website. The County Council will be briefed at their February 10 meeting. The Planning Commission will be briefed on March 20. The briefings will be live streamed HERE.
The Transportation Element and Appendix are components of the San Juan County Comprehensive Plan. The Appendix is an inventory of transportation facilities and their levels of service. The Transportation Element establishes the goals and policies that will guide the development of air, marine, and land transportation facilities and services in San Juan County. The draft Transportation Element and Appendix can be reviewed HERE.

What does this mean, briefed? When does the official comment period start and end? Is this where we can comment on the Public Works road plan?
Meanwhile, what, if anything, can slow or stop what is being done to Enchanted Forest Road regarding the further damage of Eastsound Swale Forested Wetland creek? That was put on the map and we were told it’d “probably not happen” and yet it is one of the first projects to happen. Why are we told these things if they are not going to be honored? The public had ZERO say in this.
